Lead Apostle with the family of retired Shepherd Gyambrah
28 December 2022

Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya ended his two-day visit to the Takoradi Apostle working Area with a divine service at the Kojokrom congregation in the Takoradi district on the 18th of December 2022. His visit also concluded his 2022 program for the Takoradi Working Area.

The text for the service was Zechariah 2:10; ‘Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,’ says the Lord.”

Opening the sermon, the Northern Ghana Leader encouraged all to continue to be “Grateful, remain steadfast and enjoy the presence and peace of the Lord be with us all”.

Speaking about the Advent season, the Apostle reminded the congregation that the birth of Christ was foretold to the Israelites when they fallen into slavery due to their own disobedience. He said it was a prophecy meant to happen, and God wanted them “sing and rejoice” about it.

He Is Coming To Dwell In You
God’s people should be excited because He will be among them in an exceptional and powerful way. The Apostle proclaimed that “in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God”. He explained that the Spirit has taught us that ‘the Word’ was Christ!

He further asked, “In which way Christ was coming to dwell in our midst? What other form or shape would have been more appropriate for Christ to come in?  Would we have accepted Him if He came in any other form? God came to the world through Christ! The word is Christ and wherever the altar is been mounted Christ is there.”

What Lives In You
The statement, ‘The one who is in me is greater than the one in the world’ carries a lot of weight and meaning but do we fully understand it, asked the Lead Apostle. The only answer to that is the ‘Word of God’, he said. “That is the One who is greater and not any other thing. As Christ said, ‘it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every ‘word’ that proceeds from the mouth of God’”.

Ending the service the Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya said, “We open ourselves to feel the Spirit of Christ in His congregation, we get blessings from every aspect of the divine service. Christ wants to dwell in our midst. We should allow the light in us to shine and live in accordance with the gospel”.

The Lead Apostle was supported by Apostle Sam and Shepherd Gyambrah. As part of the service, the Lead Apostle placed Shepherd Gyambrah of Sekondi congregation into retirement, and appointed Community Evangelist Elijah as the new rector. Two Priests were also ordained for the Takoradi district.
