This is the day that the Lord hath made, we will give thanks, will be glade and rejoice therein. Confirmation is a Holy Act of blessing, where young New Apostolic people take upon themselves the obligations which their parents undertook on their behalf, they vow to denounce Satan and to remain faithful to their end. To this end, ten (10) young brothers and sisters received their blessing on 30th April, 2023, in a festive Divine Service conducted by the Leader of Volta Central Apostle Area, Apostle Richard Osei.

The Apostle based his sermon on Psalm 143: 10 “Teach me to do Your will, for you are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.

The Apostle in the commencement of the service said to the confirmands that, their responsibility in regards to their journey of life starts today. “Today, the vows your parents took on your behalf at the Holy Baptism and Holy Sealing as children shall now be yours. It is therefore required and expected of you as new Confirmands to proclaim the faith of New Apostolic Church widely just as it is in the Apostle creed.” 

In teaching the confirmands, Apostle emphasized on three important key words:

God’s Will
Apostle urged the new confirmands to always seek and desire to do the will of our Heavenly Father.

God sent His Son Jesus Christ, in whom His will was and is manifested. He loved us, and the showed us the will of God is to love Him and also love our neighbour as themselves. God made laws to make it possible for us human to live in peace and harmony with one another.

Learn the will of God
The Apostle encouraged the new confirmands to make it a habit to learn the will of God always. He said learning the will of God simply means listening to His words and teachings all the time. These will enable God to reign internally within them. He also explained that learning the will of God will enable them grow spiritually and physically.

Be Patient
Sometimes God will not answer your request as you wish, but life will be better and good with those that remained focused and patent.

Humility
Apostle Osei further urged the new confirmands to show humility in every aspect of their lives and God will bless them. He discouraged them from becoming wayward. He added and advised them to extend their humility to their colleagues for God created them all in His image and uniqueness.

Message to Parents
The Volta Central Apostle tasked parents of the new confirmands and the entire congregation to be watchful of them. He added that, they should continue to nature, guard, teach and counsel them until they are fully grown to take responsibilities for themselves.

In conclusion, Apostle motivated the new confirmands to use their God giving talents to edify the Church such us evangelism, interpreting, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, preparing of chapel for service, partaking in youth fellowship activities and many others in supporting the growth and development of the church.  “Listened to the instructions and advices of your parents for they are ahead of you and know what is good for you” said Apostle.
