On the 1st of October, 2023, District Rector Joseph Gyimah joined the Nkawkaw congregation and led the special Thanksgiving Divine Service with over 200 members in attendance.
The text word was taken from Genesis 2:3, “Then blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made”.
Addressing the congregation, the District Rector expressed joy and thanked members for their turnout and also expressed his happiness for the fruits from the fields used in decorating the altar. “I seek God‘s blessings for you all. Your offering brought for the decoration alone tells me how much you understand this Thanksgiving service.”
He continued that since we are created in God’s image, we are to obey His commandments. “God did not rest because he was exhausted. He took account of what He had done for man and said it was good. Today, we are also giving thanks to our Creator.
He explained the wonderful nature of God and His works, and also highlighted man’s failings to protect it. He advised members to restrain from their bad practices against God’s beautiful nature for the benefit of today’s generation and the future until the return of Christ, he ended.
The service was supported by Shepherd Eric of Nkawkaw Central Church.
