On Saturday, 14th October, 2023, District Rector (Retired) Kwame Amoako Boadu was honoured in a special program at Bonsuoku Congregation, Winneba District. After more than twenty years as the District Rector of the Winneba District in the Accra Apostle Area, Kwame Amoako Boadu was retired in a divine service in Ghana by District Apostle Michael Enrich in June 2023.

The event was graced by Apostle Charles Asare (Accra Apostle Area), a number of District Ministers and their spouses and other priestly ministers (active and retired).

District Rector Daniel Owusu Acquah, Osuwem District, opened the program with a prayer. In his opening address, District Rector Bismark Sekyi (Winneba District) welcomed members and guests to the special event in honour of his predecessor.

In a tribute, District Rector Emmanuel Mensah (Swedru West District) recalled some life events of the retired district rector. He recounted meeting District Rector Boadu in 1983 at the New Apostolic Church, Shiashi Congregation (now East Legon congregation), where he (District Rector Boadu) was both a Deacon and choirmaster. “This was a man filled with the gospel, music and works for the Lord” he stated. “Aside being a minister, he also served as the choirmaster for Osu, Madina, La, and Tema Congregations and beyond. He also helped trained choirmasters like me and others, coordinated and organized musical seminars in Ghana, Togo and Nigeria for many years. He later returned to Ghana from Nigeria and was ordained as a District Rector in 1999 for Winneba District. His ordination did not limit his work for the Lord. He continued to assist in the Church’s musical organization.”

Addressing the gathering, Apostle Asare expressed appreciation to the retired District Rector for his selfless dedication to the service of the Lord. This, the Apostle stated is a great standard for many members and ministers. The Apostle further lauded his wife and family for the support provided the District Rector during his active days as a minister. He wished the retired minister the blessings of the Lord in his future endeavours.

The retired District Rector Kwame Amoako Boadu also thanked everyone for the honour done him and his family. He was full of joy for the overwhelming love exhibited through gifts by the members and ministers in appreciation of his service to the Winneba District.

District Rector Amos (Swedru East District) entertained all to melodious songs before leading the closing prayer.
