It has been over a year already since the late Apostle Wilson Dzattah was laid to rest at his hometown at Mafi Sasekpe. This falls within the Adaklu Tonu District of the Volta South Apostle Area. It is customary, in many parts of the country for families to observe a one year memorial of their departed relatives, usually counted from the date of burial. These events are characterized with a family gathering, special church service and wreath laying ceremony.
In the early hours of March 3, 2024, Apostle Anthony Kuada led a wreath laying ceremony at the graveside of the late Apostle Dzattah. He was accompanied by a host of District ministers from the Volta South and Central Apostle Areas. This was also a precursor to the divine service for the departed to be held coincidentally at the home congregation of the late Apostle (Mafi Sasekpe congregation).
Addressing the gathering, the Apostle read from Revelation 21. He assured members and the family of the certainty of God’s promise to those who die in the Lord; to be with Him in all eternity, in the new Heaven and new Earth.
The Apostle also paid glowing tribute to the fond memory of the departed Apostle. He also used the opportunity to specially connect the living to the condition of souls in the yonder realm and for whom the divine services for the departed would be held shortly thereafter. He further encouraged the family and members of the certainty of our meeting with the brethren who have gone ahead of us into the beyond on the Resurrection Day.
The family expressed their profound gratitude to the New Apostolic Church for their immense support and contributions to Apostle Dzattah during his ministry, and also to the family after his death.
Apostle Dzattah met his untimely death while on a routine health walk through a road traffic accident on November 10, 2022, and was laid to rest on February 25, 2023.
