Confirmands with ministers
26 May 2025

Apostle Richard Senyo Osei (Volta Central Apostle Area) conducted a Divine Service at the Ho Central Congregation on Sunday, May 11, 2025. The service was particularly significant as 13 young brothers and sisters publicly committed their faithfulness to God through a solemn vow. The confirmation service attracted families and guests of the confirmands who witnessed this special occasion.

For the sermon, the Apostle read a passage from Apostle Paul’s letter to the Philippians 2:4: “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also the interests of others.”

A Call for Reflection and Renewal
Opening the service, the Apostle emphasized that, the significance of the confirmation service extends beyond the confirmands; thus, to all members. He urged everyone to seize the moment and reflect on their own commitments to God and renew their dedication. He reminded the confirmands that the vows, initially taken on their behalf by their parents, would now rest upon their shoulders — a sacred responsibility to uphold and live by.

Time to Do Good
The Apostle inspired the congregation to find joy in doing good. He explained that caring for others’ needs is an important element of Christian living. Echoing the year's theme, “It’s time to do good,” he encouraged parents to instill in their children a strong desire to serve and do good in their communities.

Christ, the Perfect Example
“Jesus Christ is our perfect example” the Apostle stressed. He emphasized that Christ’s sacrificial death was the ultimate act of doing good — not for His own benefit, but for the salvation man. “Let us emulate Christ’s love, seeking the interests of others and supporting our neighbours in their spiritual journey” he clarified.

Message to the Confirmands
Apostle Osei challenged the confirmands to love God wholeheartedly and to love their neighbours, recognizing that love is the foundation of their faith. He encouraged them to utilize their God-given gifts to support one another and warned against suppressing others to gain prominence. He assured them of the ministers’ and members’ support as they strive to uphold their vows and faithfully profess Christ in both word and deed.

The service was supported by District Rectors Eric Ayidzoe (Dzolo District), William Parku (Ho District) and Shepherd Stephen Dzah (Ho Central congregation).
