On Sunday, December 7, 2025, members and ministers of the Accra East District gathered for a special united service at the Tema congregation, led by Apostle Charles Addo Asare.
The text word for the divine service was drawn from John 3:19–21: “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
Fellowship in Christ
The choir opened with the hymn “One Thing I Desire of the Lord,” which inspired Apostle Asare’s reflective question: “What brings us to church?” He answered by reminding the congregation that worship is about fellowship with Jesus Christ, our desire to dwell with Him forever, and our preparation to be found worthy at His return. He encouraged members to take church attendance seriously, affirming that “whatever we do in the Lord shall not be in vain.”
Light Versus Darkness
In his sermon, Apostle Asare emphasized that Christ is “the sun of our soul,” the source of all strength. He explained that sin represents darkness, but with the light of Christ within us, we are drawn away from sin and toward salvation. He urged the congregation to continually seek the light of Christ as they pursue righteousness.
Live in Jesus’ light
Concluding the service, Apostle Asare reminded members to stay away from sin and live in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. He was supported by District Rector Eric Arhin (Accra West), Deputy District Rector Karel Deheer (Accra East), Deputy District Rector Kwame Kankam (Dangbe), and Priest Sowah (East Legon).
Ordinations
The Apostle also ordained new Priests and Deacons for the Accra East District, marking another step forward in strengthening the ministry and preparing the Church for the return of Christ.
