Indeed, joyfully singing in loud ringing chorus did the family of Bishop Asare and his siblings render to the glory and honour of our God. It was the celebration of the 100th birthday of his mother, Sister Rose Asaa Asare Mankatah. The occasion, was led by Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya in a brief exaltation at the home of our dear sister on Sunday, 1st March 2020.

In honour of his promise to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Sister Rose Mankattah, the Lead Apostle praised the occasion with a text word from Psalm 71:18, ‘Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.’

100 years of God’s goodness and mercy. The Lead Apostle praised the Lord in His goodness over the past 100 years. “Truly, we are witnesses to this great day of God’s wonders, power and protection.  When we look back to the time our dear mother was conceived and birthed, we can confess that our Lord has been very gracious. Blessed be to the name of our Lord, for the cry of the baby we heard 100 years ago, and the beating heart that began without ceasing till this very moment.”

100 years of a fulfilled journey. Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya further highlighted the fruitful life of Sister Rose. “Our dear mother was blessed with a happy marriage. She was never called barren, for the Lord blessed her with 11 children of whom the 10th is a high ranking minister of the New Apostolic doctrine. Undeniably, God has been good to her.”

100 years in God, 35 years a New Apostolic. He added: “Throughout her life, our dear mother committed herself to God. She acknowledged that her very existence and wellbeing is by the grace of God. Her humility in the Lord, and her life, is exemplary.”

He continued: “For the past 35 years, Sister Rose has been a New Apostolic. Just as written in the Psalm, our mother has declared the strength and power of God to this generation and the next. She offered her property for the celebration of divine services and we continue to worship in her house to this day. Through her sacrifice, many have heard the gospel, believed in the death and resurrection of our Lord, and have been baptized with water and the Holy Spirit; many can now partake in the first resurrection.”

In conclusion, the Lead Apostle summed up the joy in the New Apostolic family, and relations of Sister Rose: “We thank you our dear mother. May God bless you. We, New Apostolics, are proud to have you as one of us. It is not common to have a centenarian in the faith. God has been gracious to you. For your sacrifice to the Lord, the generations after you shall forever have a share in your blessings. In the end, it shall be to the glory of the Lord you have served all your life to this day.”

100 years of life. Sister Rose Asaa Asare Mankattah was born on 27th February 1920. She was adopted into the New Apostolic family in 1985 and holy sealed that same year by the late Apostle I.N. Kankam at the Tutu congregation (Aburi district). In 1986, she offered her house to the church to hold divine services following their ejection from another location. The Tutu congregation has remained there since then.
