    Happy birthday Legon Campus

A teaching yet serving Apostle, fellowship of brethren and ministers, the forgiveness of sins, celebration of Holy Communion, a festive divine service. These are features of a regular divine service with an Apostle. But are we to enjoy these blessings alone as New Apostolics, neglecting the ignorant world and denying them the truth? Apostle Ohene-Saffo shared some lessons with the Legon Campus congregation in a divine service on 17th November 2019.

On the occasion of their 4th anniversary, the Apostle based his sermon to the congregation on Zechariah 8:20-21: “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Peoples shall yet come, inhabitants of many cities; the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, “Let us continue to go and pray before the Lord, and seek the Lord of hosts. I myself will go also.”

The hard truth. “Brethren as far as the Kingdom of Heaven is concerned, it is not about the worshipping of God. There are so many religions that believe and worship God, but as to whether they can make it into the kingdom of heaven, that is where the problem is: the channel (medium) through their worship.”

Sympathise, don’t judge. The Apostle revealed some practices of other faiths based on biblical scriptures which did not change with the advent of the gospel of Jesus and the offering of grace and truth. “They did not change for the reason of Leviticus 3:17. You cannot blame them, it is written in the bible. This problem exists because we (the world) do not understand the processes and the truth. It is not about the worshipping of the Father, it is knowing where the truth lies.”

One way, real truth and the life.
Quoting from the book of John, Apostle Ohene-Saffo highlighted Jesus Christ as the only channel to the Father, and the only one offering grace and truth to mankind. “The Lord Jesus made an emphatic statement in the book of John, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’ Grace and truth comes by Jesus Christ. Salvation is based on one person: the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Salvation through the Apostles’ ministry. Emphasizing the Apostle’s ministry as the only church established by the Lord Jesus Himself, he said: “Jesus prayed only for the Apostles, and then prayed for those who will believe His word through their (Apostles’) word. Again, the Lord Jesus said to the Apostles’, ‘As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.’ The church was built on the doctrine of the Apostles.”

Share the truth. Bringing his sermon to a close, Apostle Ohene-Saffo urged the congregation: “The time will come, when people will draw closer to understand the salvation plan of God. But before then, it is our duty; we must go! What we have received (the truth), let them know. The gospel of salvation must be elevated.”

Apostle Ohene-Saffo was assisted by Bishop Asare, District Elder Arhin and Priest Damankah.
