“Who is a good man? A good man is one who believes in the Triune God, flees wrong doing, obeys the Godly laws, loves God, follows God and serves Him faithfully”. These were the opening words of District Elder Ebenezer Adjei as he conducted a festive divine service in which 29 confirmands took their vows at the Osu congregation on Sunday, 28th April 2019. He was accompanied by District Evangelist Amoah and all the rectors of the Accra East district.

The District Leader based the sermon on the first and last portions of the bible text from Luke 6:45, ‘A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; ... For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.’

In sharing his core thoughts on the text word, the District Elder said, “Today, my dear confirmands, you will assume full responsibility for yourselves; you will take over the vows of your parents. If you stay faithful to your vows, shun evil, believe in the Triune God and stay true to the New Apostolic doctrine, you will be called a good man.” He further highlighted that a good man is also judged by his words and actions.

The District Leader also encouraged the confirmands to share the treasures found in the blessings of our belief in our Heavenly Father, the doctrine of the Apostles’ ministry, the fellowship with our brethren in the New Apostolic faith and the gospel of salvation found in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In summing up, he advised and blessed the confirmands; “My young brothers and sisters, assimilate the Word and keep it in your hearts so as to be part of the first resurrection. Remember your vows today before God, and do not depart from it. May the blessings of God and the peace of the Loving one be with you.”

District Elder Adjei was assisted by District Evangelist Amoah and all 8 rectors of the Accra East; Shepherds Afenyo (Ashaiman), DeHeer (East Legon), Kankam (Marteyman), Sowah (La), Boateng (Tema), Appeagyei (Teshie 1), Okyere (Teshie 2) and Kwapong (Osu). There were 291 brothers and sisters in attendance.
